Digital Citizenshipĭigital Citizenship is more than just a teaching tool it is a way to prepare students/technology users for a society full of technology. Digital citizenship is the norms of appropriate, responsible technology use. Students will be applying problem solving, logic and critical thinking skills through a variety of programs. Computer Coding is the development of steps/instruction to complete a task or accomplish a goal using technology. Why Coding? Learning to program supports learning in other areas, like math, reading, and science. Through the Google Suite, students use cooperation, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. Students will work with Google Forms to take and/or write surveys and assessments. Students will learn about word processing, spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations both through Microsoft Office and Google. Below are just a few of the topics covered. Our Technology and STEAM room is setup to use laptops, tablets and even put the technology aside for some other hands on learning. While we believe technology is a key area to explore, it's what supplements our curriculum and enhances our classroom learning environment. All students should have the opportunity to develop skills necessary to succeed, learn and lead in the 21st century.
